Surf 9/18 – Kos Spotguide

Hey Guys!

Last June I spent a couple of weeks in Greece. My friend Andre and me did some island hopping to produce a stories for the German Surf-Magazin. It’s the biggest Print Magazin in the Windsurfworld with around 25k issues sold every month. So if you are keen to jump on a cheap flight next summer (Vienna-Kos you can go for aroung 80!! €) Maybe this spotguide helps you. You can read it online on

Travelspecial 2017

Hey Guys!

2017 was amazing. I was travelling more than 5 months in total and spending quite some time on homespots aswell. I started the year in Tarifa, had some amazing days on the Adriatic Sea, an pretty decent spring season in Podersdorf and under the Bridge, followed up by windy time in Fuerte Ventura, some creative time in Sri Lanka and ended up with being in my almost second home in Brazil. Unfortunately I ended up with a broken hand in Jericoacoara which forced me to skip January and February from the Windsurfing side. But as I am writing this sentence I can tell you, I am finally 100% back. Check out my Story in World of Windsurf Magazin. Direct Link:

Tarifa 2017

After some years of Tarifa break, I finally made it back to the small town in South of Spain. Like always winters there bring a huge variaty of conditions. I was on all my sails from 3.7 to 5.2. I was pumping in flatwater on 5.2  and thought my hands are falling of with my 3.7 in Waves. Anyways I found out that 4.4 Pure is my personal magic sail and I really love it.

After not Windsurfing for a quite a while it was very hard. I thought I could straight sail like in Brazil – EEEEHHHM NO. It got better every session, and with the mix of conditions I felt that as soon it got a bit easier – I am already very confident on ducking the sail. One day could be really good, but then the next day you sail again in very gusty conditions and you have a hard time crashing a lot although its flat.

Beside that we worked on two Videoprojects for JBL and Under Armour. We finished up both already. One is featuring a Headphone called Heartrate and the other one the brandnew JBL Flip 4. Like always it was great fun to produce this Imageclips.

Pretty soon I will release the next Episode of SEEN. It will be about this whole trip to Andalucia, this time we have less footage than normal. But the rawcut looks already really promising of a just very beautiful Video.

And when there was no wind?! Yes, SUP 🙂

Brazil 2016

Thats it. For Brazil 2016. What an amazing time…

The last two months past really fast. First my friends at me stayed in Jericoacoara – a pretty known spot 😉 With my Buddy Chris ( I was shooting for Seen Episode III – The Vision. Seen III will be very different to the last two episodes – so I am excited to show my baby to the world. It should be out very soon and couple of JBL Clips for the IFA, which will also appear on Facebook and other Social Media Channels.

Anyways. Jeri was very cool, but the wind made a bit of a slow start and I was everyday on 4.6 for the first one or two weeks in July. What I like about Jeri is that it feels like coming home. Everybody is happy to see you and it feels very familar, so the first weeks were a lot about catching up with Edvan, Aurora, Hugo, Jonathan, Jamilson, Renato, and my more!!!  Then suddenly the wind came back to the normal strength and I was lot on my 4.2. Classic Jeri Conditions. We tried to make a lot out of it and Chris filmed quite a bit with his new waterhousing and the new drone – some of the shots are insane – be prepared…

Same time my girlfriend (yes I am in a serious relationship finally) dropped by and we had some lonely evening sessions where she learned to Windsurf really good. Suddenly she felt ready to try new spots, so we started to drive around a bit. With the whole Crew we hade pure soulsessions in Lagoa Paraiso and River Guriu.

After six weeks Jeri it was enough and time to move on. I heard a lot about a spot which is called „Maceio“ close to Camocim. So Jo Meyer (a lot of my pictures a made by him), Luki, my brother Mo, Theresa and me started the adventure into the unknown. Sadly Chris was staying behind in Jeri (I still dont know why really haha).

Maceio is a crazy place. Yes it’s true, if they tell you there is not much. But there is enough to have a happy life. We were living in nice house next to the beach. The Buggygarage was our surfstation with our rigged sails. The owner was mega nice and cooked fresh fish, soup and Langosta for us very often.

Max Brinnich Maceio

Windsurfing in Maceio was quite tough. Its crazy strong, the waves have a bit more power and with the wrong tide its mega choppy – but with the right tide this place is amazing. But its good to bring a lot of equipment – the boys were killing the boards and the sails haha. Unluckily my brother hurt is foot on the first day and could not sail anymore – but in the end he was still happy us the life next to the sea is amazing with all the friendly people around.

A few times we were riding to Camocim for some pure flatwater – but I realized quite soon that I like the powerfreestyle conditons with the small waves in Maceio much much more – you can throw huge culos, konos, shakas, shifties…and its flat between the waves as well.

Thank you to Edvan and Aurora, Hugo, Jamilson, Fabrizio, Ana, Omar, Jeri250, Kitezen

Croatia Easter 2016

Just enjoyed some windy days down there in Croatia. Since I ve been back from Capetown – it was quiet cold in Austria, but last week a proper Bora-forecast for Istria, Croatia popped up – so I finally started the Windsurfing Season also in Europe.

We had kind of mixed conditions as I was sailing all my sails from 4.2 overpowered (local guys on 3.4-3.7) to 5.0 pumping. I was sailing with Woife Strasser from Germany, one of the most inspiring guys, I met for a long time. Altough he is around 50 and has cancer – he is really fit and pushing himself into the Freestylemoves. My friend Jo took some pictures.

On the way back I dropped by at Flikkaboards – discussing some changes on the upcoming Freestyleboard and I also picked up some Testboards from the Coreline. You can now test the Allround Wave 85, Freewave 99 and 107 in Podersdorf at Surfshop USD. If you wanna try the Freestyle its also no problem – get in touch with me! I ve a couple of boards ready to go!

This time I really wanna thank Ford Beyschlag for helping me out with this nice van (already last year), but I enjoy driving so much with it!

Autumn 2015

Max Brinnich in Croatia 2015

Wow. That was an busy time. I try to summarize it! Since I ve been back from Brasil I ve been twice to Croatia. Got some mega nice Boradays with my Buddy Adam Sims. As you know I love the easy life, sleeping in my van on the beach – wakeup, enjoy the sunrise, spend as much time Windsurfing as possible and have a good time with my friends. Here are a few pics of my two trips to Liznjan 🙂

On the last trip I picked up my new Freestyleboard from Flikkaboards in Slovenia. Luka Jures made me a new winnershape and Tony gave the board his unique Color. Afterwards we got some serious Bridge Condtions in Vienna. My brother and Chris from CC-Films helped me producing some new Videos coming soon – as well as new JBL Episode from Vienna feautring the new JBL Everest 700 Headphones. Check out a few Pictures from doing all this stuff:

Now it got really cold in Austria – so I am waiting for some good Conditions to pop up in Croatia. Beside that I am trying to finish studying at university and getting fit for the new season In six weeks I will leave to Capetown for bringing the trainingsmode on…hehe.

Brazil 2015 – WOW

I probably had the best summer I could imagine. The conditions tried to kill my confidence every single day. I took a rest just 3 days long – but you could sail every day at least on 4.6! In videos Jeri always looks like a perfect spot, but in the end it’s super hard to sail there: it’s gusty, it’s choppy, there are small waves on bigger ones and it can be f*** strong. In the end I loved it. I went for maaaaaaaassive shifties…crashed harder that I could imagine ever before: spit blood, had to vomit – cause the harness hook went straight into my stomach, and could not open my mouth one day, because I hit the boom so hard with my head. Sounds bad, actually no. Thanks Edvan (one of the craziest and nicest guys) I ever met I got more and more into this shifty thing, and just on my last days I landed my first one!!! And a good point about the training of this move was that I got control in mega Shakas!! I did some which were at least 5 or 6metres high! My crew in Brazil was just perfect with my brothers Mo(my real one), Chris (my bro from another mother) and Martina – who is one of the most awesome girls I ve ever met. Thank you all so much.
Chris founded CC-Films and beside doing a very nice imagevideo for JBL we did the first Episode of my upcoming video series „SEEN“.

This is just the warmup. I wanna do basically 2-3 highquality a year from now on. Maybe this sound now a bit enthusiastic, but they idea behind is to create something, like a platform where i summarize my best memories and keep them alive for later. Maybe just from a day, maybe from a longtrip or just from an incredible weekend at home. In the end SEEN is less about the action and more about feelings, nice places and moments I don’t want to forget. Right now I am already working on episode2 which will be completly different from episode1 for sure.

Spring 2015 – BR IS BACK!!!!!

Hard to get it into words. My whole life changed a lot and I travelled more than ever. Tomorrow I will leave to brazil – so maybe its good to summarize it a bit for myself haha.Since mid of March I slept 6 times in my bed, I was on tour for 16 Weeks now – travelled through many countries, windsurfed a lot although two doctors told me that I wont be able to windsurf this year!

What a stupid shit! Anyways its all a bit too much for one post here – but what I really wanna point out is the amazing time I had in Izola, Slovenia working in a sportcamp as a Windsurfinstructor. I could to a lot of sport in my sparetime and got some really nice boradays in Izola, Grado, Marina Julia and Triest in Italy (which is also really close) ending the months with some serious south winds in Medulin, Croatia.

What also should be pointed out is that from now on I am sponsored by Ford Beyschlag and I am driving a brandnew Ford Transit Custom – Thanks a lot for this support!

Sri Lanka 14 – the Video

What a summer?! I can’t imagine a much better one, altough I hurt myself, had a massive stomach flue and had more curry that you would normaly eat. I scored many good sessions at lonely spots-thats what I like. As my level is not crazy, I tried to make a beautiful video with a story behind – i hope you like it.

Sri Lanka 14 – That’s it, That’s all…

What a summer! After an amazing summer already last year on the island Sri Lanka in the Indian Ocean, I decided to go there again. I almost spent two months at a town on the north west Coast called Kalpitiya. Thanks to Upul and his Team from Desilva Windresort ( who helped me a lot. The conditions were a wide mix – from perfect flat with strong wind to gusty 5.2 pumping in chop. But I really have to say that I was on the water pretty much all the time just with a few friends or even alone – which I don’t know on which other spot you could have this in summer. I missed just a few days on the water, when I hurt my ankle and went on a roundtrip through the island. Check my Gallery about my summer trip. And all the upcoming Coverage!
